This product is a preventive medication for lower urinary tract infections and is suitable for patients who have undergone urinary tract surgery and have a indwelling catheter after cystoscopy.

The antibacterial effect of the product itself is not strong, but after entering the body, it can be hydrolyzed into hippuric acid and formaldehyde under acidic urine conditions (pH about 6.5). Formaldehyde can denature pathogen proteins and exert non-specific antibacterial effects. The concentration of formaldehyde in urine varies depending on pH value, urine volume, and excretion rate, and has bactericidal or bacteriostatic effects. Maluric acid can maintain the acidity of urine and promote the release of formaldehyde. Almost all bacteria and fungi are sensitive to the non-specific antibacterial effect of formaldehyde produced after hydrolysis of the product.
